Mothering Sunday offers us a chance to celebrate our Mums & our love for them. However, for some it can be a difficult day, bringing with it a whole variety of emotions & memories.
This set of interactive Prayer Stations acknowledges this & offers a creative space for all ages to celebrate, remember & lament.
Made up of seven prayer stations, this resource is ideal for any intergenerational service or worship event. The stations can also be left in church for visitors to explore after the service.
Best displayed on tables which are accessible for all, simply print out which of the prayer stations you wish to use & place alongside the items for each activity.

🙏 Thankful - praying for those who have nurtured us
Mini Easter chicks (easily found in a PoundStore or Card Shop) displayed in a basket or on some straw
🙏 Celebrate - praying for Mums & others we love
Colouring pens or pencils.

🙏 Healing - Praying for Mothers in need
Plasters, pens & a large cardboard heart or world map to stick the plasters to.
🙏 Cherish - Praying for mothers who have lost a child
This activity has been designed to be displayed on or near an altar. Before the activity, scatter a few paper petals across the altar/table to create a trail of colourful blossom.
You'll need pastel-coloured paper & the petal template found at the end of the prayer stations. Before the activity, cut out the petals and place them in a basket alongside a few pens.
🙏 Justice - Praying for Mothers around the world
A packet of beans to plant (or as many as needed for your congregation) displayed on a plate with a knife & fork on either side.
Sticky tape or double-sided tape & children's scissors
Meal cards (You'll find the printable at the end of the Prayer Stations) For best results, print on white card & cutout before service

Tealights, votive stand or tray of sand for candles
🙏 Loved - Praying for those who find the day difficult
Paper Hearts & a basket to hold them. We're using the printable hearts with Bible texts from our Blessings Jar.
